People who work in Exmouth have a few days left to take part in a survey which aims to find out about their travel habits.
Devon County Council has been carrying out the survey over the past fortnight as part of its Local Sustainable Transport Fund project.
It follows Devon’s successful bid for nearly £5 million of Government funding in July to develop sustainable transport schemes which help economic growth and cut congestion across the county.
The County Council is proposing to make better use of the existing transport network as well as ensuring that the promotion of sustainable travel supports the local economy.
Councillor Stuart Hughes, DCC Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said: “Taking part in the survey is an opportunity for people who work in the Exmouth area to help improve their journey to work.
“The Local Sustainable Transport Fund is creating opportunities to enhance and extend the choice of travel options that we can offer as well as improving travel information for commuters to ensure people can make informed choices on how they travel.
“By monitoring journeys through this survey, we will be able to gather the information to ensure we are investing the funding where it can have the biggest impact and make a real difference to how people travel.”
Devon County Council said the scheme 'aims to deliver enhanced business productivity, increase new businesses and assist new development in Devon through the delivery of work hubs, better travel choices for commuters and improved traffic management'.
Exmouth is one of four ares in the county being targeted through the scheme, alongside Exeter, Newton Abbot and Totnes.
Anyone who works in Exmouth or the surrounding area is invited to fill out the survey and say how they travel to work, whether it’s by car, bus, train, bike or on foot.
The survey, which will continue until Friday, December 16, can be filled in online at www.devon.gov.uk/exmouthtraveltally.
