THESE WERE THE SCENES on Exmouth seafront this morning at 8.30am. The flooding was due to high tides, and followed a flood warning issued yesterday evening from the Environment Agency...

Shortly after these pictures were taken, roads to Exmouth seafront appeared to be closing, although this has yet to be confirmed.

More pix soon.

Re: Exmouth's disappearing dunes. Thanks for the update Rog. It's good to be reminded of the erosion that's taking place there, and how we may be able to prevent it.

Huge amounts of sand were removed from the dunes by the sea again yesterday. Exmouth's dunes are disappearing at a rate of knots. This is partly due to erosion by people's feet and insufficient marram grass planting. I understand that they are the responsibility of East Devon District Council. If you think more should be done to preserve the dunes for future generations please email Streetscene at http://tinyurl.com/87mw3x4
