Neither of the boys have done anything so daring before, but were inspired to take on this challenge to support the work of local Marie Curie nurses. Ian said "We've both Ian Wooldridge and Matt Powell of Exeter jumped out of a plane this November, in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and a local family friend. The colleagues, who work at Mecca Bingo in Exeter took on the skydive from 15,000 ft on Friday 15th November.
seen the affects that cancer has on friends and family. Matt had never even stepped into a plane before but we, literally, jumped at the chance to raise funds and awareness for the work of Marie Curie nurses and also in support of a local family called the Unsworths"
The boys have been fundraising for the 2 causes within the club with charity raffles for the customers and also donations from friends and family with a total raised of £3.020.49
Ian and Matt said. All the staff and customers at the club really got behind us as did family members and friends of the Unsworths. We would both like to thank everyone involved for their support and generosity towards the campaign and we are delighted with the result.
Money raised from the skydive will be split between providing support for the Unsworths, and Marie Curie Cancer Care, whose nurses provide free overnight care to patients in the comfort of their own home.
