MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year to you all from Exmouth People! Hopefully by now all your Christmas shopping is done, the mince pies are in the oven, and you're getting ready for a few days of festive fun. But don't spend all your time by the fireside, watching the TV, guzzling food and drink. There's some terrific local events going on in and around Exmouth for you and the family to enjoy...

In the next few days we've got Exmouth's Christmas Day Swim, the Boxing Day Seafront Fun Run, the Exeter Classic Motorcycle Club Run to Exmouth seafront and Xcycle's Christmas Holiday Cycle Ride up the Exe Estuary. So make sure you come and support these great local events. And, if you can't get out and about, instead of watching the TV, why don't you listen to some local community radio instead? Exmouth's Bay FM has lined up some special online shows for Christmas Day and the festive fortnight.
As we take a little break, it's a good chance to recall that 2011 has been a tremendous year for the town, with some wonderful events to remember, such as the Royal Wedding street parties, the Avocet Rail Line's 150th anniversary, the Exmouth Festival, the Kite Festival, the Exmouth Carnival and the Christmas Cracker. And to show what a great year it's been, next week we'll be publishing our review of 2011 in pictures.
Meanwhile I'd like to thank you for visiting the Exmouth People community website during the year, and I look forward to more of your photos, stories and comments in 2012. It's your contributions to this website that makes it so special, so thank you again for your support and please keep the pictures and stories coming!
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
