Exmouth-born Rebecca Newman will be singing at the Exmouth Pavilion on 18 November as part of her 'Coast to Coast' UK tour. Rebecca will be returning to the very same stage she performed her first ever solo at the age of 14, this time headlining her own show.

The tour will feature some of the Yorkshire-based performer's latest work and raise awareness for the charity that saves lives at sea. During recent visits to her home town, local shoppers at the Magnolia Centre have been treated to bursts of her voice whilst promoting her tour. The former Exmouth Community College student's family have been helping publicise the concert around town, including her 80 year-old grandmother. Rebecca says:

'Not only do I hope my tour raises money for the charity, but I also want to create awareness about their fantastic work. The crew are volunteers and bravely put their lives on the line to rescue people who get into difficulties around our coastlines. I'm very excited about the tour and single launch. I've worked hard to ensure that the right people are involved and that my debut single reflects the outstanding work of the RNLI.'

Money raised from both the Exmouth and Exeter concerts will be contributing towards a new launch and recovery system for the Shannon class lifeboat arriving at Exmouth RNLI towards the end of 2013. Speaking fondly of her childhood in Exmouth, Rebecca says:

'I spent many happy summer days on Exmouth and Shelly beaches when I was growing up, so I always knew what the RNLI stood for and how it was run by volunteers.  When I moved to London with work at 21, I was surprised to find out how many people did not know the crew were volunteers or that the charity relied on the public donations to support its work. I hope to do my bit to bring awareness of the RNLI to a new audience and help inspire some fundraisers, lifeguards and crew of the future.'

Audiences can expect to be thrilled by Rebecca's magical voice, performing masterpieces from opera, the musicals and pop. The tour will feature a selection of songs from Rebecca's three main albums, including 'Time to Say Goodbye', 'I Dreamed a Dream' and 'Fields of Gold'. Rebecca will also be joined on stage, by special guest, tenor Lance Vernon and the local Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir.

Rebecca is recording her debut single with acclaimed producer, James Fitzpatrick and will be accompanied by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. This is Rebecca's first single release which is a classical Italian version of 'My Heart Will Go On', (Il Mio Cuore Va) from the hit film 'Titanic'.
