St Peter's School
held their annual summer fete on Friday 27 May. A total of £1202 was raised,
including £100 raised by our Heads of School for the Orpheus Centre which
provides opportunities for young disabled adults to promote personal development
through performing arts. The remaining money will be used to sponsor a teacher
in the Watoto Village in Uganda. Watoto is an holistic care
programme initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned
children and vulnerable women in Uganda, whose lives have been ravaged
by war and disease. The Watoto Choir came to perform at St Peter's earlier in
the year.
Children, parents and
staff throughout the school had great fun at the fete, taking part in a variety
of games and activities including caricature drawings, nail painting and apple
bobbing. The event was opened with a performance from our own dance group and
the afternoon finished with a well deserved cream tea on the front lawn.
