"Five of us - Derek Smithers, Sam Forder, Adrian Toole, Doreen Sandham and myself - turned up in rainy muddy conditions," said TTE's Elinor Scott. "We planted 27 trees of a mixed variety, all native of Britain. It took us about two hours. We then adjourned to Greenfingers for some sustenance!
"Derek was brilliant at diggging holes and so was Doreen. We all worked very hard, got wet but felt a sense of achievement when the task was completed. It was disappointing that more people didn't turn up, but I rather think the weather was against us!"
