The Exe Estuary Trail, near Lympstone Station. The Trail is temporarily closed due to ongoing repair work caused by the severe weather before Christmas
Work has been taking place during the past fortnight to repair a large hole in the trail at Nutwell Court - between Lympstone Station and the Commando Training Camp - which appeared in the cycle way as a result of the severe wet weather just before Christmas. The work has included Devon County Council's contractors underpinning the washed-out sections of the trail.
In addition, Network Rail has also been working in the area. They are repairing the railway bridge, wall and embankment. They require the trail's temporary closure to allow them to complete their heavy work, immediately adjacent to the trail.
The Council is asking cyclists and pedestrians to take care and to pay attention to any warning notices that indicate temporary closure.

Re: temporary closure on Exe Estuary Trail. According to Devon County Council, surfacing on the large hole in the Trail at Nutwell Court is programmed for Monday 11 February. The scaffold bridge has already been taken down and there is a temporary surface over the backfilled area where the bridge was.
