WITH WINTRY weather finally with us – and snow across high ground on Exmoor and Dartmoor – so far Exmouth has escaped major problems. But with temperatures due to drop in the next few hours, there are warnings of ice on roads overnight. This is expected to be confirmed shortly by Devon County Council when it announces its gritting schedule, so keep checking Exmouth People for updates...

Temperatures will remain quite low across for the next few days – dropping to -2 degrees C in Exmouth on Tuesday night – before lifting towards the end of the week.

The Met Office has issued a Cold Weather Alert of Level 3 for the area. This means that the weather "could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services". Rain will continue today, but is likely to ease overnight.
