THERE'S NO EXCUSE for not keeping fit this Christmas – you can work off those mince-pie pounds with Exmouth's Xcycle. The town's campaigning cycle group has organized a Christmas Holiday Cycle Ride to help you keep fit over the festive season...

Cycling up the Exe Cycle path
The bike ride is on Tuesday 27 December. Starting at 11am from Exmouth Sports Centre, it will be going up the Exe estuary cycle path, with lunch at Topsham's Bridge Inn.
The event follows on from Exmouth's annual Christmas Day swim and the Boxing Day Fun Run. "We're seeing it as part of a triathlon," says Xcycle's Elinor Scott. "After the Christmas Day swim and Boxing Day Fun Run, you can really work off those mince-pie pounds with our Christmas Holiday Cycle Ride. That being said, it won't be a race; we'll be taking things at a leisurely pace."
All cyclists welcome. Meet at Exmouth Sports Centre, Royal Avenue, Exmouth EX8 1EN at 11am on Tuesday 27 December. Call 01395 268301, or email elinorscott@phonecoop.coop for more details.
