Gloomy, bland and dull
I went here four years ago and was pretty underwhelmed. Four years later and I'm afraid I'm still underwhelmed. The cafe is gloomy and stuffy, full of cooking odours, the menu is bland, the paintwork is tired, the tables felt sticky and the refreshments were under par. The coffee was OK-ish, but the "warmed" cheese scones were pappy, tasteless, tepid, probably microwave heated and not very nice. The price - £5 for two small coffees and two scones - seemed a little steep. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. It may be in the centre of town, but there are better cafes around.
