mangos is not just a coffee shop. everyone is welcomed with warmth by all the staff. holidaymakers and regulars are made to feel part of the cafe life. the attention to detail and willingness to accomodate needs of children and diabetic/gluten free customers are obvious. but if you can indulge, i urge you to try the carrot cake or lemon cheesecake, made by simon's wife, tammy.they're wonderful.

My favourite Exmouth cafe. Mangos is run thoughtfully and efficiently by Simon. The courteous and quiet welcome is genuine, the cafe is spotless and the 'order at counter served at table' system works very well. The wide range of snacks, both hot and cold, the cakes and pastries are all fresh and generous in portion. Mangos has my custom because I feel wanted as a customer and the prices suit my, limited, pocket.
Mangos offers what may well be the best coffee in the town centre (and it's Fairtrade, too) but the chilly ambience doesn't tempt you to linger. The decor is spartan, and the only comfy place to sit is on the (now rather battered) sofas. Unfortunately, these are located at the back of the cafe, near the toilet, ideally placed to catch the draught from the front door. Elsewhere, you can choose from metal chairs and tables or a high bar. The glass food counter is usually half empty, and the food itself is half-hearted. This place needs colour, comfort and commitment – until it gets them, you're probably better off with a takeout coffee.
