From panoramic photograph by Tom Hurley
Old Exmothians (and younger ones) may like to see several panoramic photographs of scenes around Exmouth. These include one taken of the Strand Gardens as it was before the new development. These are best viewed in full screen mode. The Strand Gardens photo shows the dead tree that has been removed, and the thatched roof shelter that is soon to be replaced by the "cafe on the Strand" - or not! Click on the 'open map' tab (on...

According to an article in the online version of the Exmouth Journal, published last Friday plans for a new building have been backed both by East Devon District Council (EDDC) and Exmouth Town Council. How is it possible for the EDDC and the Town Council to back the plans before a new planning application has been made? Doesn't EDDC and the Town Council intend to consult people formally after the planning application has been...

As these meetings were informal no notes were...

    On the way to Devon?
There is a House of Commons Debate on Thursday 19th May - this highlights the 'political will' of providing faster broadband. I would like to see at least one Devon MP speaking up for the County in this debate. There will be 4 or 5 projects announced at the end of May 2011 by Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) - a new Government Quango (in type). I have a feeling that one at least will be in Devon, the Cinderella of Broadband in England....
