I was horrified to see that 44% of those taking part in this poll would support UKIP - surely people realise that a vote for UKIP is a vote that will help to keep the Labour party in charge. If you don't want another Labour government, then the only vote that will ensure that, is a Convervative vote.

What utter nonsense Heidi_girl Labour has no chance of ever getting elected in East Devon. Perhaps people are voting UKIP because they are tired of the failed old parties of Labour, Liberal and Conservatives with their lies and deceit. Perhaps they are not particularly happy at the way their sitting MP Hugo Swire abused the expenses system. Perhaps the voters of Exmouth are far more astute than you are giving them credit for.
In any case people should vote for a party that most closely matches their own views. They should vote to keep another party out of power, that would be a betrayal of your own values, something the Tories are extremely good at!
I agree with Heidi - I think you have to think in a general election about who you would want to run the country. Local elections are different. UKIP are not going to form a government so I can see what Heidi is saying.

ReportInteresting - Lib Dems will never form a government so therefore on your premise there a millions of people wasting their vote. You should not be voting for a government but for the party that most closely represents your views. The DUP in NI will never form a government in Westminster but people still vote for them because that party most closely represents their views. Unfortunately we have in the UK now the 3 largest, old and tired, parties are virtually identical and represent so few people. Labour have moved to the centre and so too Conservatives, sad that they should abandon their principals more sad that voters follow blindly like sheep follow a shepherd.
