I posted a comment on one of the other Devon County Show pages. I went today and it was a great day out - I would recommend it highly. Impressed too that parking is free - you don't get that very often these days. The Exmouth display was impressive and I have posted some photos in the Gallery.

The Devon show, is that the place where people demonstrate their superiority over animals in the most graphic manner, but what else could they do?

To be honest, I hadn't thought of it from that viewpoint. However I must say that all the animals I saw looked well cared for and healthy. The animal tents were clean and airy and I didn't see any animal looking distressed in any way. I am not a vegetarian and so, although I am an animal lover, I accept animals as part of the food chain. I know that other people will feel differently and I respect their views the fact that their protests have gone a long way to improving the conditions in which animals are kept.
There is of course much more to the Devon Show than the livestock. The marching bands, demonstrations, stalls, food and displays were most enjoyable.

You are not a vegetarian but you are an animal lover Hmm. I accept animals not wanting to die, like people.
