What about displays of local craft work / art / photography? Something to really lift the look of the empty windows? Surely there must be local interest groups who could get creative, and it wouldn't have to interfere with anything beyond the window?
Call it Recession-Proof Window Dressing... keep the town centre looking attractive.
Actually, I met with the Exmouth Town Council last week to discuss this very idea, on behalf of the Exmouth Photo Group. The Town Council and one of the larger shop property owners they've spoken with are keen on the idea. It should help to brighten up the town at no additional cost to anyone, so everyone wins. We hope to have some progress on this very soon. I hope you will all soon be enjoying some of our members' photos!

If anone knows of a free commercial property in or near to Exmouth (not really after one with a shop front) that would be suitable for a photographic studio I am looking for new premisis.. I will also be looking to rent out studio space to other local photographers at reasonable rates for their own projects once this is up and running.
Basic requirements - 1 large room for studio, toilet facilities, 24 hour access.
Pref with - 1 or 2 other small rooms/storage areas.. one for office, one for storage!
I'm open to suggestion so let me know what you have! - email: edd@eddking.com
