Where to live?

As I am only just getting to know the Exmouth area, prior to house hunting, can anyone give me any tips on the different housing areas? We like somewhere fairly quiet with nice gardens, and not on a big estate.

Hi there. We only moved here recently so are still getting to know the area. Are you looking to be in walking distance of the town centre or on the outskirts? Exmouth is a lot bigger than people realise at first, though the centre is all quite compact. I know there are some lovely villages on the fringes, such as Lympstone and Withycombe Raleigh, and there's the marina (exclusive and very expensive).

If you want something period, there are some lovely Georgian properties. Are you looking for somewhere with character or something modern?

Thanks for that. Probably prefer the outskirts of town - and don't really mind older or modern, though I don't think Marina living would be for us - we do like a nice garden.! I will certainly check out those villages too.

Hi You don't say if you need schools or need to be within walking distance (2miles on the outskirst) Number 57 bus service takes you all around - from Exeter to Brixington/Bystock via town centre it runs every 12/15 mins.

My personal preferences of Exmouth are 'the avenues' area though houses can be a bit pricey but nice area close to town and beach, or off Exeter road halsdon avenue way. Ad you come along Exeter road with the shell garage on your right it's the streets behind there, I've always thought I would like to live in there. Both are nice houses most have gardens. That's where I would live if I could!!!
