Me too. I've seen that one before and always wondered. I used to have a great dentist who would come in no matter what time/day if there was an emergency - I want someone like that. I'd really appreciate any advice, too! Someone out there must know a good one!

ReportHi Lildaydreamer, I'm afraid I can only recommend a private dentist in Exeter, Contemporary Dental in Queen Square, near Central Station. It's worth considering though, if you take out something like Tesco dental insurance. If you're teeth are in relatively good condition, it can work out to be reasonably affordable! My dentist is Simon Martin and he's the sort of guy who'll come out on a Sunday after his works xmas do to sort your toothache out... ps I've just seen your website and love your crafty work and blog! Do you ever have a stand at any local craft fairs?

Report@Exmouth Indoor Markets, do you mean ADP? If so, is there a particular dentist who you can recommend? Thanks for replying!

ReportADP on Salterton Road is variable, depending on which dentist you get. Staff turnover has been high, which is not good. I have had three different dentists in the past two years with them. That speaks volumes. Each of those dentists has been reasonable and I've liked them, but the constant turnover doesn't inspire confidence. Some of the problems, I'm sure, are due to the fact that ADP is not a small practice - it's a "dental corporate body", with 125 branches around the UK. Consequently it's run as such, with some decisions coming from on high, rather than at local level. So don't expect a small practice, where your dentist is completely in charge of everything. This is a large-scale operation, where cost-cutting appears to be a high priority and treatments seem to be the absolute bare minimum. I've also heard some nightmare stories, although my personal experience has always been good.

ReportThanks for your input Greenman! It's so difficult finding an NHS dentist.
