71% rise in profits as BT hails
-
Devon Superfast Broadband as of Today
broadband success. BT will also double the speed of superfast broadband to the
cabinet (FTTC) in 2012. All great news for Devon that has no FFTC (Fibre to the
Cabinet).
This Government has a target of a
UK minimum 2 Mbps for all by 2015.
Why are they so busy in providing superfast
and broadband improvement for those who already meet or exceed their miserable target?
Why are people who either can’t get the
internet via landline or broadband speeds little better than dial-up being left?
The Devon County Council area has no
superfast public broadband. They have now put in a hand holding bid. In an area
with zero, nothing – should they not be successful?
Since posting this story
earlier – the government have announced that the target of Superfast Broadband
for the UK by 2015 is 90% coverage (25 Mbps or more). For the other 10% it will be a minimum of 2
Mbps. So now we know. BT Openreach, Virgin Media, Sky (All involved in current fibre
optic roll-out). Please get on with it. All Councils take an interest and play
your part.
