Going potty: the Exmouth Ceramic Group open course offers people the chance to 'pot for pleasure'
is guaranteed to last longer than most people’s resolutions, Exmouth Ceramic
Group is now offering classes for anyone who would like to try their hand at
pottery. Established over 20 years ago, the group comprises more than 30
committed and enthusiastic members, dedicated to developing their own skills as
potters and to encouraging more people to explore this fascinating craft.
Following the success of its first open courses,
ECG is now offering an 11-week course to allow as many people as possible the
chance to ‘pot for pleasure’. Held on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday
evenings at ECG's new purpose-built studio at Rethink, 2-4 Meeting Street, just
off the Exeter Road, the course is open to all, whether complete beginners who
want to learn from scratch or experienced potters who simply need access to
studio facilities. Full support is provided in the form of tuition and handouts
for those who would like them, but there are no set projects or assessments –
the aim of the course is simply to enable participants to develop the skills
they need to realise their creative talents. The course tutors are all fully qualified and
experienced in both ceramics and teaching.
The next courses start on 13 and 14
January, and some places are still available. Please contact Sarah on 01395
278056 or Caroline on 01395 597440 for more information.
