Will you be joining Cheggers at Krispies?
Cheeky Keith Chegwin will tomorrow be visiting the Exeter Road shop tomorrow morning, from around 10.30am, to present Tim Barnes with the ultimate chip accolade and to treat customers to a live performance of the South West's very own Chip Tune, chosen by chip lovers across the region.
Organised by the Potato Council as part of the National Chip Week (15th - 21st February) celebrations, the Perfect Portion Awards recognised outlets that serve up a perfect portion of chips in ten different UK regions.
Voting for the South West's Perfect Portion Award was very close with over 60 shops, restaurants and pubs across the region just a few frieds away from the top honour. However, when it came to the crunch, Krispies was chip-torious, being Capels of Exmouth into second place.
Tim Barnes of Krispies is overjoyed to win the South West Perfect Portion Award, "This is a fantastic start to 2010!" At Krispies we take huge pride in our chips and work hard to ensure that we serve the perfect portion every time. It's great to have our commitment to quality recognised by the people that really matter – our loyal customers."
Chips from all over the UK have been busy nominating their perfect portion at the Love Chips website.
Did you know that a portion of chip shop chips contains less fat than a prawn and mayonnaise sandwich? Or that for a fast and fabulous midweek meal, a 165g serving of oven chips with three fish fingers contains just one third of the saturated fat found in a serving of lasagne?
How many times a month do you have fish and chips? Did you know that if you review your ten favourite Exmouth businesses - including your No.1 Chippie - and write 50 words for each review, you can claim a £10 M&S voucher from the website? Go on, earn your chips and get busy reviewing!

What a great accolade for good old Krispies! Nice to see a local business getting the recognition it deserves. I'm off to get a portion!...
