The voting lists for the
prestigious What's On 4 2010 Awards have just been announced - and Tea Pot
Tales is there!
The award programme, which is
supported by Prima Baby & Pregnancy magazine, is now in its fourth year and
celebrates the best activities across the UK, as nominated and voted for by
parents.
This year, the awards are bigger than ever, covering 13 different categories
ranging from Best National Pre-School Activity to Most Outstanding Community Group
Volunteer for children.
Over 2500 nominations in
total were made this year.
And Cara Stratford from
Exmouth who runs local group Tea Pot Tales is a nominee in the Best Local
Activity for under 5’s category meaning that she received enough nominations
from parents to go through to the voting stage.
Cara, a local mum of two, set
up Tea Pot Tales two years ago following many years working in the Early Years
sector, including Managing a community Pre-school and lecturing in Early Years
and the business has gone from strength to strength working throughout Devon.
She runs weekly classes for parents as well as sessions in nurseries, schools,
children’s centres, libraries and museums.
In her spare time she fits in a few parties too! Tea Pot Tales is a
magical, fun and active storytelling session for young children incorporating
lots of activities within a single session, including music, drama, movement,
props, puppets and lots of sensory experiences.
Cara said:
"I am delighted to be through to the voting stage and would like to thank
the parents who have got me this far. I work really hard to make every single
Tea Pot Tales session a special, fun and enjoyable learning experience for both
children and their grown ups. Being recognised like this makes all that hard
work worth it! If you have ever been to a session, you will know the preparation
behind the story so please take a second to vote for Tea Pot Tales"
From 8th March to end of
April 2010, parents can log onto the award winning on-line directories - www.whatson4littleones.co.uk
to vote for their favourite clubs, groups, classes and party entertainers from
all of the nominees that have qualified.
The winners of the awards
will be announced on 27th June 2010 at the Baby Expo Brighton and
presented with their award certificate by Phil Gallagher from Cbeebies Mister
Maker.
And everyone who nominates or
votes has a chance to bring their family to the awards ceremony to meet Mister
Maker in person!
Every children's activity and
party entertainer in the UK has had the chance to be nominated, making the
awards a true representation of how parents feel towards what is on offer for
their children.
What's On 4 founder Sam
Willoughby said: "I'm so excited about our 2010 Awards! Everyone through
to this stage should be very proud that parents feel strongly enough that they
have taken the time to nominate. But I can't wait to see the results of the
voting."

ReportCongratulations to Cara! These Tea Pot Tales sound fantastic. Storytelling is a real talent. The only one I've experienced was up in Grasmere, in the Lake District, where there is a garden with fairy models etc., and regular stories.
