Haven Holidays have this week announced a recruitment push at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park at Sandy Bay.

Some 300 jobs are on offer, compared with just 5o last year, which attracted 900 applicants. The jobs will be open to the public by visiting Devon Cliffs Holiday Park this Friday, from 2pm until 7pm.

A variety of jobs will be on offer, ranging from cleaning, security, lifeguards and catering.

Hopes are high for a bumper holiday season in Devon this year, despite the gloomy economic outlook. With talk of the recession being over, many still suggest they will not be travelling abroad for their summer holidays. It is hoped this will lead to thousands more visitors to Devon.

A Haven spokesman said, ‘It’s a promising start to the season! The park has bucked the trend with a surge in bookings from families wanting a seaside holiday. Families are flocking back to British seaside resorts!’

Tourism in Devon is already worth some £250 million each year and employs around 8,500 people.

Will you be applying for any of the new roles, or maybe you’re just considering booking your holiday in Exmouth? We would love to hear your thoughts.

This would be great news, not only for Exmouth but, for South Devon as a whole. The area could do with getting back to the days of good, fun family holidays at a reasonable cost. We can only hope for some good weather to help attract the holiday-makers back. Nice photo too.

This is excellent news for Exmouth! And I can't wait for summer. That lovely photo you've put up of the beach is just a reminder of what a fantastic place Exmouth is!

If you're thinking of applying for a job, have a look at local businesses or even people posting stories on the site who might be able to help advise on CVs and interview skills! With so much competition for jobs out there, it's a good idea to put some time in to any applications you make!

So, 300 jobs coming to Exmouth people! A cause for celebration!! If you get a job, or you're looking for one, post a story on Exmouth People about how you're finding the job hunting process at the moment. Has it changed over the last few months?
