Seasonal Jobsfair and Work Experience Trials

Finally, the Job Centre have actually come up with something helpful!
Firstly, there is a Seasonal Jobsfair at Exeter Corn Exchange in Market Street on Thursday 10th September from 11.30am-3pm. Companies such as M&S, The Met Office, Thistle Hotels etc.. will be there and It's open to ALL AGES, so pick up the invitation when you next sign on. I doubt this will be offered so you may have to ask for it.
Secondly, depending on how long you've been out of work, there is something called a Work Experience Trial where you can spend anything from 1-3 weeks with an employer of your choice. There is no obligation on either side but it's a great opportunity not only to get your foot in the door but also to find out if it's for you and vice versa. Again, you'll have to check this out with your 'Personal Advisor' but they'll give you some forms and then all you need to do is make the initial approach.
I'm going for both but I'd be interested to hear about anyone elses experiences...

That's a great idea, the Work Experience Trial - just getting experience is hard for some people, especially people who might happen to be returning to work at a really tough economic time, maybe after having a family, for example. Is it only open to people on Job Seekers' Allowance or can people who are simply returning to work try this?
