Snow hits Exmouth!

WHILE THE rest of the country has been blanketed in snow for days, so far Exmouth has escaped lightly. Not so today. Overnight, a thin amount of snow hit the town centre.

But as you can see from these pictures – and those in the gallery – it's nothing compared to the snowfalls Exmouth experienced in January. At 9am all main roads in the town centre were passable, with just the odd problem on side roads and icy pavements. Things were very quiet as many schools were shut and commuters had either left early, or were taking the day off.
By 3pm this afternoon, snow had pretty much gone from all of the town centre. However, if temperatures drop this evening, any remaining snow could become ice, which will become treacherous.
