Bronte’s exit from Over the Rainbow last Sunday was the first shock of the popular BBC series, and this Saturday's live show will see the following nine Dorothys compete to stay on stage:

Emily

Danni

Jennie

Sophie

Stephanie

Danielle

Jessica

Steph

Lauren

Sorry, I know this isn't a serious local story but really, in truth, a lot of people are interested in it and those girls that have the guts to get up on the stage each Saturday deserve to have some decent voters behind them!! So if you think red, blue, yellow or green are limiting in terms of political parties - switch on to Over the Rainbow and you'll find more colours to vote for! And a lot of passion!

Who’s your favourite? Mine is Danielle – she’s more understated than many of them seem to be but acting legend Sheila Hancock keeps pointing out her talent and I just think she’s the one who’d make the most sincere Dorothy, probably with the most versatile style. And she has a lovely voice. I liked Jess at the start but now I find her a bit too limited - always the same over-exaggerated facial expressions. And I don't like Danni's tinny voice one little bit! Id' say Danielle, then Lauren are my favourites.

Last week’s sing-off goes to show that the public vote can be really unpredictable and I don’t know what they were doing leaving Lauren and Bronte down to the sing-off.

The South West doesn’t really have a champion on the stage for this series so I suppose Sophie’s the closest to us, from Wales. But if you’ve got Dorothy fever, you want to join in, and you don’t feel Cardiff is too far to travel, did you know that you can join in with an Over the Rainbow Masterclass, led by 'I’d Do Anything' winner Jodie Prenger?

For more information visit the Over the Rainbow website on the BBC.  The singing event in Cardiff will take place on Sunday 9th May at St David’s Hall and you can enter the random draw until any time until this coming Monday, 19th April. Two tickets per household.

If you’re smitten with the Dorothys and want more of the action, why not apply online for tickets for the live show? Perhaps you're more interested in this than the General Election, or vice versa, but it does go to show how much sway one single vote can have!! Use it wisely - on Dorothy and the future PM!!

If you're a singing teacher in Exmouth, or you're learning to sing or study performing arts, can you recommend a singing/drama group locally? There must be plenty of West End Wannabes in Exmouth. Perhaps we could have our own contest in the Pavillions?!

I really don't get it! Each to they're own I know, but I caught five minutes of Dorothy the other day and wish I hadn't, I don't see the appeal. For me, X Factor and Britain's Got Talent were really entertaining because the show was a real spectacle! Dorothy is full of snobs all saying how 'lovely my dear, you'll be a star in theatre!' No, no, no! Where is the entertainment in this show? Who wants to see Andrew Lloyd Webber on TV anyway and who at the BBC thinks it's still a good idea to employ Graham Norton?... Please stop it BBC. Next you'll be having a guest slot for Divina McCall. I might just have to sell my tele!
