I haven't eaten at The Saddlers Arms so can't comment on the food, but I have been in for a drink and found it to be most convivial. The service was warm and friendly, unlike the beer which was kept in good condition. The room had a good atmosphere and it was easy to park there. I would recommend it as a good place to pop in for a pint.

ReportThe Saddler's Arms is certainly old and characterful, with the feel of a real local. With parking at a premium in the area, the large car park is a bonus, and the recent addition of the conservatory provides an airy dining space. The food is nothing special, but the service is attentive and friendly, and the lunchtime specials offer good value for those on a budget.

Report
Used to be my eatery of choice 20 years ago, but boy have things slid since then! The last time I ate there my chicken was raw, and I sent it back. My slightly less fussy colleague got a stomach upset. When we reported this, the response was very poor - even when escalated to the then HQ of the then owners, Scottish and Newcastle. Never again. Ever.

ReportSenior citizens are catered for in the Saddlers Arms with special offers and a special caring atmosphere. But they are just a part of the eclectic clientele with a welcome for everyone from babes in arms to 100 year olds, and every age in between. The carvery is a special treat, but the fish and chips are equally satisfying. It gets very busy, being so popular, so book if you can.
