I've been a regular customer at Franklins for about five years. I've always enjoyed the coffee, which although a little expensive, is normally reasonable. And I used to love having toast and marmalade with my coffee in the morning. However, I recently popped in and was very disappointed to find that they no longer serve little glass jars of marmalade or jam to go with the toast. These have been replaced by cheap, plastic pre-packed preserves, and there simply isn't enough marmalade or jam to go round two slices of toast. So I'm not impressed.

ReportFranklins is a one-off in Exmouth to be quite frank. (No pun intended!). Handy for town, yet enjoying the peace and quiet of being on the edge of the town centre, it's definitely worth stopping there for lunch or for a drink in the evening. It's the only pub in Exmouth that actually looks well cared for in terms of frontage and finish inside - a class above most other places and one I will keep going back to.

My parents recently took me for breakfast in Franklins and I found it to be really nice. The breakfast was well cooked and was a very reasonable price for the size of meal that we were given. The staff were friendly and polite and the decoration of the it was all together really nice, so I would definitely recommend it!
Franklins is one of my favourite bars to visit. In the evening there is always a good atmosphere and sometimes there is live music. The drinks are slightly more expensive than elsewhere but they use top quality brands and paying the extra is worth it. During the day it is a great place to stop by for a coffee or lunch and I have always found the service fast and friendly.

ReportI agree Rockwell. I had always assumed Franklins was more of a night-time pub but it's really, really nice inside and has an atmosphere that makes you want to hang around, read a paper, order another Latte. I have to say, I think it's one of the smartest looking pubs in town as well. I know it sounds stupid but I actually really like the colour of the paintwork on the front, and the way they've got traditional windows etc. It just gives a welcoming feel and the food and services lives up to the impression you get from the outside. I agree, a firm favourite for brunch and lunch stops for me!

ReportRecently met a friend here for brunch. Had a lovely smoked salmon and scrambled egg dish, with a fresh pot of Earl Grey. Hadn't thought of it as a mid-morning option but it's great. Lovely comfy leather sofa just inside the door, if you can grab it!
