This has to be one of the worst Indian take aways I have ever had . Bland/ flavourless was not the word I dont think a spice was used . I would even say i would cook better myself . Very poor portions but then again it was so bad I wouldn't of want more . Will never use again !!!!
I couldn't agree more yopski. The Ganges – at one stage the best Indian in Exmouth – has gone right off. In the past 18 months we have had a number of takeaways from there, and each one has been progressively worse, much of the food cold, bland and uneatable. Not only that, but the prices are too high for such poor quality food. We are unlikely to try it again. That's a huge shame because it was a very good Indian a few years ago. Let's hope they can smarten up their act, especially now that the new Goan restaurant is getting such excellent feedback.

ReportThe Ganges isn't the best Indian restaurant in the world, but it's definitely the best in Exmouth, and has a devoted local following. The food is consistently good, and the menu goes beyond the familiar standard dishes for those wanting to try something different. The decor is pleasant enough, but these days we tend to get takeaways rather than eat in, as the service and ambience, while fine, are nothing special. Basically, a good, reliable High Street curry house, and a safe bet for a takeaway!

ReportI can't get over how fantastic Ganges is - the best tasting coconut Korma I've found in the UK, delicious naan bread - particularly the peshwari - and well, you just can't beat the service and the lovely atmosphere upstairs. You could assume it only has those few tables downstairs but there's much more to it. Takeaways are also really good - always on time, never have to wait if you call in advance. I just can't get over why my friends keep suggesting we eat at another Indian in the town, their favourite, because once you've had Ganges, you'd never go back.

ReportFantastic Indian takeaway - right up there with the best. I can't comment on the ambience of the restaurant as I have only used the takeaway so far - but I do intend to eat in too, as the food was so good, and the staff really friendly. Each dish tasted good and as if it was individually prepared- not just chunks of meat thrown into a sauce like some.

ReportThe best Indian food I have had anywhere. When I chatted to three people waiting to pick up takeaways recently, they all agreed that the food is delicious. Really wonderful flavours. Lovely atmosphere upstairs, too, in the restaurant. People who are Ganges fans never stray...
