I just cannot believe that it's only 23 days until Christmas Day. Well done to the BBC for bringing back Delia Smith. I know with her help I shan't be forgetting any of those Christmas essentials this year!

Only 13 days to go now readers. I have just finished my Christmas cake and , even though I say so myself, it is a sight to behold! Now onto the mince pies. Honestly, a cooks work is never done!

Whether you actually go on to cook these things yourself, they are such a pleasure to watch ..... trouble is they always make me feel so hungry! One thing that makes it look easy on TV is the ingredients all being weighed out ready for you, and the washing up never seems to pile up like it does in my kitchen ...... and why don't I have all the right sized bowls like they do? Actually, my favourite is Saturday Kitchen with James Martin

I watched Deliah last night, recorded. I have to say, I thought she packed a bit too much in and even though I felt inspired, I also felt a bit overwhelmed. Also, if I wanted to go out and make any of those dishes, I'd have to fork out a fortune in various ingredients. She said it was cheaper cooking homemade food but I'm really not sure!
